RETAIL SALES

Schedule

  • Part-Time, Seasonal Position - mid-March to September, with possibility of hours beyond

    • Around 2-3 shifts per week; approximately 12-20 hours per week

  • Daytime and evening hours required

  • Weekend and weekday hours required

  • Opening only at our Longfellow / South Minneapolis location - 3738 42nd Avenue South, 55406

Responsibilities

  • Help customers, answer questions, and recommend plants and products

  • Work both inside and outside in many different weather situations

  • Pack and bag plants and products

  • Set up and run cash register, handling cash credit card and gift card transactions

  • Clean, restock and price products

  • Spot water plants, provide plant care and maintenance

  • Assist with unloading plant deliveries and stocking

  • Clean and organize

Required Attributes and Skills

  • Plant identification and gardening proficiency in at least three broad areas: annuals, perennials, edibles, soils, houseplants etc. 

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Garden center, retail or other relevant experience

  • Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds

  • Ability to work on feet (with allotted breaks) throughout shift

  • Ability to work both independently and with a team

  • Ability to handle pressures of a very fast paced environment

  • Available to work one weekend shift per week

Bonus Skills

  • Familiarity with specifics of organic gardening

  • Familiarity with Google suite and Mac computers

Rate

  • Starting pay is $17.00/hour
